Our penthouse is located in Costa Blanca South. More specifically, the Orihuela Costa region, just 7 km from Torrevieja. This region is known for around 320 days of sunshine a year! Moreover, this region has been declared the healthiest living environment in Europe, the so-called Microclimate. Very suitable for people with rheumatism or other joint complaints as well as skin conditions. People with asthma also feel much better in this climate. Large shopping center with well-known stores, Zara, H&M, Mango, Havanias, Decathlon, Guess, IKEA, ... Salinas de Torrevieja
Visit the beautiful pink salt lakes in Torrevieja. You can take the tourist train at Torrevieja's port every day. Boarding point is at Paseo de la Libertad (opposite Plaza Waldo Calero). A ticket costs €8 for adults and €7 for children. You can leave every day between 10am and 7pm. Also accessible by car or bike.

Tickets can be bought from as little as 7 euros.

It is up to 35 km long and very beautiful.

Lo Pagan -mud baths
Do you want to do something different and take a nice picture in the mud? :-)
Then be sure to visit Lo Pagan! This is at the beginning of Mar Menor.
These mud baths are completely free and accessible to everyone.
Moreover, it works therapeutically for some conditions such as rheumatism; arthritis and skin conditions.
This mud contains calcium, fluoride, magnesium, sulphate and chlorine.
Afterwards, you can rinse off in the salty water. Lo Pagan, worth a visit!
Nearby, you can also discover flamingos.
Palmeral of Elche
This city of Elche near Alicante has a forest with about 70,000 date palms with about 97 different species.
These palm trees can be found on the eastern bank of Vinalpo.
Since the year 2000, this has belonged to the World Heritage List and to UNESCO.

Fancy a day trip? Then be sure to visit the beautiful city of Alicante.
The castle of Santa Barbera, is number one here due to its stunning views over the city. You can reach the castle in different ways by taking a walk of about an hour along "Parque de la Ereta". Or also possible by lift, take the walking tunnel at the entrance of Calle Jovellanos.Visiting the castle is free only the lift is charged.
The well-known Explanada de Espana boulevard is one of the most beautiful boulevards in Spain, walk among the beautiful palm trees and stalls and enjoy the breeze from the sea.
A very nice neighbourhood is Barrio Santa Cruz, which is still an authentic neighbourhood of the city and where you will discover real Spanish life, it is not touristy but incredibly charming.
After all that walking, you might want to take a break and enjoy the famous Playa del Postinguet beach, which is almost 1 km long.
For museum-lovers, there is the MACA museum, which includes a unique collection of paintings by Pablo Picasso. This is also located near a Gothic Basilica 14th-15th century, so you can suddenly soak up some culture.
Casa Antiguo, is a unique square in Alicante's historic centre. This square has several narrow streets and nice little squares. Plaza Ayuntamiento and Merco Cetraal (fresh market) are definitely worth a visit!
The port "Puerto Deportivo" is especially pleasant to stroll among all the yachts in the evening. There are also many restaurants, discos, and even a pirate boat where you can dine "Barco Restaurante El Trinidad".
Santa Pola
Near the metropolis of Alicante is Santa Pola, also definitely worth a stop if you're heading in that direction!
Apart from the beautiful beaches, you can also experience lots of activities with the kids, such as Pola Park a theme park with 30 attractions, go-karts, roller coasters, mini golf, freefall... On a rainy day (which is exceptional) you can visit the aquarium municipal, which contains mainly animals from the area.
You also have a beautiful promenade with terraces, restaurants and shops. You can shop clothes, souverniers, shoes, this boulevard has it all!
Fan of flamingos? Then be sure to visit "Parque Natural de las Salinas", this area is largely underwater and is the habitat of wild flamingos.
Villajoyosa
Towards Alicante and Santa Pola, you will find this cosy and charming fishing village.
Villajoyosa is known for its gastronomy, of very high quality and a fishing tradition.
You can visit the Amadorio Marsh, this lake has beautiful views and you can walk all around. Carp fishing is particularly popular here.
A typical feature of this village are the hanging houses, these are very colourful and characteristic in reflected in the centre. You can also see that the Amadoria River runs past it. This is highly recommended if you want a nice walk.
Addicted to chocolate? Then be sure to visit the Valor chocolate museum, during the walk you will learn the history of 100 years of chocolate and learn about the old and new processes of the equipment in the factory.
The port is the cosiest place to hang out, there we can see the old coloured fishermen's houses and find the best fish restaurants in the area.
Habaneras Shopping
Habaneras Shopping Centre is located in Torrevieja, an open-air centre which is no problem in the South ;-)
It is very open building and designed in Mediterranean atmosphere and nice resting places and fountains.
It is very popular with tourists and we keep the crowds well spread over the three floors.
Each floor has escalators and public toilets. You will find various clothing and shoe shops, Zara, Guess, C&A, H&M, Mary Paz, Mayka, .....
Several restaurants and bars, KFC, Burger King, Fosters Hollywood, Lizzaran,...
Nearby there is also a cinema and bowling.
In short, something for everyone!
